This policy covers the Soupy Games instance hosted at soupygames.com. Soupy Games is also self-hostable software — if you're playing on someone else's self-hosted copy (a home LAN party, a friend's server), that instance is run and controlled by them, not us, and this policy doesn't apply to it.
Signing in is optional, on both the host's display and a player's phone. We receive your Google account's name, email address, and profile picture from Google Sign-In, and store them along with your Google account ID so we can recognize you on return visits. This powers signed-in features like saved settings, a saved custom avatar (drawing data you create, tied to your account and shown to other players in rooms you join), play stats (games played and won, per game), and daily-puzzle/level progress — including when you play those solo directly from your own phone.
Joining a room only requires a display name you type in — no account, no sign-in. That name, and whatever you submit during a game (drawings, guesses, words, clues), is visible to the other players in your room for the life of that room and is not tied to any persistent identity unless you're signed in.
We don't run ads, ad trackers, or third-party analytics. We don't currently sell anything, so we don't collect or store payment information. We don't buy, sell, or share your data with data brokers.
Signed-in account data (profile info, stats, progress) is kept until you ask us to delete it. Session tokens expire automatically after 30 days of inactivity. A game room's live state is deleted automatically shortly after the room ends or goes stale — it isn't kept as a permanent record.
Soupy Games is intended for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed in with a Google account, contact us and we'll delete the associated data.
You can play as a guest player without ever signing in or being identified. If you've signed in, you can email us to request a copy of your stored data or to have your account and its data deleted.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the update.
