Agreement

By using Soupy Games at soupygames.com, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. These terms cover the hosted instance at soupygames.com — a self-hosted copy run by someone else is governed by whatever terms they set, not these.

The service

Soupy Games is a free party-game platform: one screen hosts a game, other players join and control it from their phones. It's provided as-is, free of charge, with no purchases or paid features at this time. We may add, remove, or change games and features at any time.

Accounts

Signing in with Google is optional, whether you're hosting on the display or joining from your phone. It's used for saved settings, a saved avatar, play stats, and daily-puzzle/level progress. You're responsible for keeping your session secure (don't leave a signed-in device unattended in a way that lets someone else act as you). Joining a room as a player never requires an account.

Acceptable use

Play fair and be decent. You agree not to:

• Use names, drawings, clues, or other content that's illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a shared party setting.
• Attempt to disrupt the service — abusing rate limits, flooding rooms, exploiting bugs to break gameplay for others, or attacking the server.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, or resell access to the service.
• Impersonate another person or misuse another player's account.

We may remove content, kick a player from a room, or block access for violating these terms. Room hosts also have their own in-room kick controls.

Your content

Anything you type or draw during a game (names, guesses, clues, drawings) stays yours. By submitting it, you give us permission to display it to other players in your room and to process it as needed to run the game (e.g. showing a drawing on the host's screen). We don't use your in-game content for anything beyond running the game you're playing, and room content is deleted automatically once a room ends or goes stale.

No warranty

Soupy Games is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be available, error-free, or uninterrupted — game state can be lost to bugs, restarts, or deploys, and we're not liable for a spoiled game night. Use it for what it is: a free party game.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service changes. If a change is significant, we'll update the date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the update.
